This position is for a Data Engineer to help lead the implementation of a Hunkemoller Data Mesh on Google Cloud. You’ll work closely with a team of internal & external engineers to help facilitate and accelerate Hunkemoller’s data transformation initiatives. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of playing a key role in designing a new data architecture to support next-generation analytics and data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
· Build and Maintain Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines using SQL and cloud technologies (GCP), ensuring data quality and reliability.
· Data Integration & Transformation: Assemble and transform large, complex datasets from diverse sources to meet business needs.
· GCP Platform Support: Assist in the design and implementation of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, focusing on automation, data delivery, and scalability improvements.
· Data Infrastructure: Contribute to building the infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
· Data Analysis Tools: Develop data analytics tools that leverage our data pipelines to generate insights on customer acquisition, operations, and business performance.
· Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with Product, Data, and Design teams to resolve technical data issues and support their data infrastructure requirements.
Requirements:
· Strong SQL Proficiency: Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and analysis.
· Object Oriented Programming (OOP): Experience with OOP concepts (Python preferable) and experience applying those principles to data engineering practices.
· Technical Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· ETL/ELT experience: Practical experience working with ETL/ELT tools and Python. Experience with DBT a plus.
· Code Quality: Proficient in writing clean, well-documented, and tested code.
· GCP Knowledge: Knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly advantageous.
· Data Analytics/BI Understanding: Familiarity with Data Science and/or Business Intelligence concepts is a plus.
· Version Control: Experience using Git or other version control system.
· English Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
