As a Junior Buyer in our underwear department at Hunkemöller, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our product range, ensuring it resonates with our target customer base and drives innovation and profitability. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the market landscape and collaborating with Design, Technical, and Supply base teams to develop new products that meet customer demands while maintaining profitability.
  • Working closely with the Design Team to ensure integration, consistency, and commercial viability of the product range, incorporating fashion and technical innovations.
  • Partnering with Merchandise and Planning to develop departmental strategies, set sales and profit targets, and finalize product ranges in alignment with critical timelines.
  • Collaborating with Merchandising & Planning and the Head of Buying to establish sales targets, range plans, stock flow, margins, and prices to ensure timely stock delivery.
  • Planning and executing departmental KPIs, implementing tracking mechanisms to meet budget and targets.
  • Conducting regular visits to stores, competitors, trade shows, and suppliers to gather feedback for future strategies and insights.
  • Managing buying processes, ensuring deadlines are met, and fostering a collaborative and learning-focused team environment.

Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferably in fashion/textiles.
  • 2 to 5 years of buying experience in fashion retail, with at least 1-2 years of team management experience.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge, particularly in women's fashion.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new products and source from the Far East.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency in English for business communication.
