Maintenance Technician

Hunkemöller’s looking for a Maintenance Technician that will be responsible for smooth running of our new, fully automated DC in Almere. Example of the duties involved are the fault finding and preventative maintenance on a range of automation equipment (Conveyors, ASRS, AMRs and ancillary equipment) Reporting to the Facilities and Engineering Manager you will be part of the daily shift team that will ensure smooth running and measurable ‘up-time’ of the equipment and systems.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide error recovery and restart services for the automation components on the site (Conveyors including Spirals, ASRS, AMRs, Label Applicators, Carton Erectors) and the ancillary services.

  • Help manage the third-party providers for the maintenance of the automation, and key ancillary services.

  • Learn how to take over this Preventative Maintenance regime as the warranties expire.

  • Support the F & E Manager and the Snr Engineer in the procurement of spare parts direct from the OEM and not always relying on the system supplier.

  • Train and mentor some of the key operators to enable them to use the equipment most effectively.

  • Project manage changes and upgrades as the site develops.

What you will need:

  • 3+ years’ experience in an automation and engineering field with a good knowledge of both the hardware and software components of an automated DC.

  • Higher level Certificate / Diploma in an electromechanical engineering discipline.

  • Siemens PLC experience preferred.

  • Procurement experience, particularly in engineering services, spare parts and consumables

  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems and ability to set-up and use a dedicated site-based system.

  • Project Management Skills

  • Enjoys working across multiple departments with multiple people

  • Fluent in both English and Dutch

  • Your previous experience may have come from time with an automated system supplier, user or both.
