Sustainable packaging and waste specialist

Hunkemöller is searching for a passionate and experienced Sustainable packaging and waste specialist  to strengthen our buying team at our international Headquarters in Hilversum (NL)!

In collaboration to the EU strategy for sustainable and circular textiles, EPR legislations are being introduced. We're looking for an experienced Sustainable packaging and waste specialist to deal with the EU/EU countries packaging & waste requirements.

The Job:

• Establish a clear roadmap to end waste as part of HKM’s strategy.
• Research scopes of individual countries.
• Register with take-back systems per individual country / implement packaging EPR regulations.
• You're ahead of legislation with emerging challenges and constantly scope and research packaging trends through individual countries. 
• Deep dive into packaging and (product) components and shipping of goods.
• Reduce the use of multi-materials packaging & increase recycled content.
• Lead packaging projects, including doing an inventory of existing packaging / to change the existing packaging designs.
• Operationalize partnership with Buying, Design, CSR, marketing, supply and procurement.
• Manage data collection for reporting and baselining of key performance indicators related to packaging consumption including on-product packaging (hangtags etc.) and transit packaging (cardboard boxes, polybags etc.)
• Data analysis and writing through various reporting mechanisms.
• Actively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Our ideal CANDIDATE:

• Extensive experience in understanding sustainable packaging specifications and knowledge of EPR regulations and legislations globally

• An eye for detail!

• Analytically strong. Managing and reporting to set a clear sustainable road map

Excel knowledge a big plus.

• A passion for sustainability and the need to lower our climate impact

• Familiar with circularity to minimize the use of multi materials & increase the recycled content of all our packaging needs. 

• You must be Confident to Lead packaging projects analyzing existing packaging implementing improvements on new packaging designs acting as an ambassador in partnership with across the business stakeholders.
