Hunkemöller's is looking for a Technical Manager to join! This role is an attractive opportunity to lead and inspire our team of talented garment technicians that are crazy about product, fits and quality – in our HQ in Hilversum (near Amsterdam).

Hunkemöller's is looking for a Technical Manager to join! 

Your remit is to be as passionate about product as we are. Besides, you ensure that the technical team grow their knowledge & expertise, that they are trained for their roles and are effective in supporting the Hunkemöller Design &  Buying & Supplier Teams, to produce consistently great product, fit &  quality that meets Global  retail specification/product safety/performance standards.

As our Technical manager you'll report directly to our Global Design & Buying Director and have below responsibilities:

  • Monitoring technical KPI's and ensuring action plans are in place for constant improvement

  • Monitoring product returns and write off rates

  • Working closely with the Design & Buying department (e.g. for on-time deliveries, supplier appraisals)

  • Creating presentations with technical team to increase technical process knowledge for suppliers and Design & Buying department

  • Working closely with suppliers (e.g. sourcing/technical visits/delivering workshops/onboarding/monitoring suppliers)

  • Ensuring product testing and global compliance requirements are assessed/updated/rolled-out  to internal departments and suppliers

  • Promoting organic/fair trade/sustainable and other niche product area

  • Staying up to date with improvements and new possibilities (e.g. sample, fitting supplier management)

  • Visiting Hunkemöller stores to receive feedback on product performance

  • Promoting and maintaining clear communication between stores and HQ

  • Putting in place internal and external training programs for all technical staff together with HR

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous hands-on experience with senior garment technical management

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience (fast-paced retail environment)

  • Bra & lingerie experience in technical and compliance background essential (experience with swimwear, sportswear & nightwear a plus)

  • Fluence in English and capability to express towards different target audiences (e.g. suppliers, peers, board)

  • Experience with buying environment

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with good interpersonal skills

  • Love for developing people and leading team with trust, support and giving opportunities

  • Solution focus and effective problem solving

  • Ability to work under pressure and fast moving environment

  • Understanding of pattern/pattern alterations fittings (Bras / lingerie)
