Your remit is to be as passionate about product as we are. Besides, you ensure that the technical team grow their knowledge & expertise, that they are trained for their roles and are effective in supporting the Hunkemöller Design & Buying & Supplier Teams, to produce consistently great product, fit & quality that meets Global retail specification/product safety/performance standards.
As our Technical manager you’ll have the below responsibilities:
Monitoring technical KPI's and ensuring action plans are in place for constant improvement
Monitoring product returns and write off rates
Working closely with the Design & Buying department (e.g. for on-time deliveries, supplier appraisals)
Creating presentations with technical team to increase technical process knowledge for suppliers and Design & Buying department
Working closely with suppliers (e.g. sourcing/technical visits/delivering workshops/onboarding/monitoring suppliers)
Ensuring product testing and global compliance requirements are assessed/updated/rolled-out to internal departments and suppliers
Promoting organic/fair trade/sustainable and other niche product area
Staying up to date with improvements and new possibilities (e.g. sample, fitting supplier management)
Visiting Hunkemöller stores to receive feedback on product performance
Promoting and maintaining clear communication between stores and HQ
Putting in place internal and external training programs for all technical staff together with HR
Skill set Requirements:
Experience of working in garment retail, with knowledge of manufacturing, packaging, fabric and technical requirements
Managing Garment tech team, supporting them on key KPI’s, main objective Quality & Fit.
Not necessarily need lingerie experience, but nice to have.
Compliance experience. Supporting & leading team on product compliance & testing requirements to ensure all due diligence and audit standards are met. Chemical Compliance, Product Performance, Sustainability, and Innovation falls under this role, and the candidate needs to works with / across Hunkemoller various functions including CSR/ESG, Buying, Logistics, and Legal.
Sustainable experience preferred.
Manager experience (will be leading team of 7)
Project management: Participate in projects to improve process
Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to multi-task, adapt to change, prioritize tasks, and commit to follow-through and deadlines
Strong analytical, written, and communication skills including presentation experience.
Collaboration working / team player: Strong interpersonal and team skills, with a collaborative and learning mindset
Experience/comfort working up, down, and across an organization
Previous hands-on experience with senior garment technical management
Fluence in English and capability to express towards different target audiences (e.g. suppliers, peers, board)
