We are happy that you are interested to apply for a job at Hunkemöller. In this Privacy Statement we explain to you what personal data we may process from you when you apply for a job with us via jobs.hunkemoller.com and how we protect your privacy. Hunkemöller is the data controller within the meaning of the applicable data protection law.  

1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE PROCESS?

When you apply for a job with us, we may process the personal data you provided to us, such as your name, gender, date of birth, contact details, an administration number, nationality and place of birth, and data about your education, courses and internships followed, your suitability to the job applied for, your current and previous jobs and  their terminations, and data which are necessary to fulfil our legal obligations. Data about your interaction with the gamified personality assessment is collected and evaluated to provide insights of your abilities in relation to the vacancy. We may also retrieve personal information about you via an internet search and a check of your LinkedIn profile.
We process your personal data only for the following purposes: to assess whether you are suitable for a job within Hunkemöller, to safeguard company security; to perform an internal audit; in the context of dispute resolution; and to fulfil our legal obligations.

2. WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

In addition to authorized personnel of Hunkemöller, the following other parties may also have access to your personal data in the context of your application procedure:
  
-      Service providers. For instance, the hosting provider for our website or other third parties that offer services that may be integrated in the recruitment and selection procedure such as assessment platforms.
-       Merger or acquisition. If Hunkemöller is the subject of a merger or acquisition, your personal data will be made available to the relevant acquiring or merging party, for as far necessary.
-     Public authorities. If required by law, a judicial decision, or other decisions of a competent public authority, we will share your personal data in line with such obligation, for as far necessary.

With each service provider, acting as a data processor, we have a data processing agreement in place and take steps to continue to protect your personal data.

3. ON WHAT LEGAL GROUNDS ARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED?

We process your personal data on the grounds of legitimate interest and consent. We have a legitimate interest to process personal data to determine which candidates are the best fit for Hunkemöller. We also seek your free, specific and informed consent to personal data processing, such as for contacting you via WhatsApp or phone during the recruitment process. In exceptional cases we may also process your personal data on the grounds of legal obligations and vital interest. To comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or to protect the vital interest of a natural person.

4. HOW DO WE SECURE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

To safeguard your personal data, we implement technical and organizational security measures such as implementing access controls within the organisation. We consider the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing for the selection procedure, as well as the risk of varying likelihood and severity for the rights and freedoms of natural persons such as yourself.

5. DO YOUR PERSONAL DATA LEAVE THE EEA?

Your personal data that we process for our recruitment and selection procedure, will not be transferred to a jurisdiction outside the EEA.

6. HOW LONG WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE RETAINED?

If you, unfortunately, do not get selected, we will retain your personal data for a maximum of 4 weeks after the application process has ended, unless you agree that we can extend this period to one year. If you do get selected, we will retain the personal data relevant for your position up to two years after termination of your employment and/or work activities. In spite of the foregoing, we may retain your personal data for a longer period to comply with an applicable minimum statutory retention period.

7. HOW DOES HUNKEMOLLER USE AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING AND AI IN RECRUITMENT?

We sometimes use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help us assess the potential suitability of candidates. We may use automated decision making or AI in the recruitment process to:  

  • Contact you and conduct pre-screening (such as your availability to work in different locations)
  • Interview planning  
  • At times propose alternative roles based on location

Don’t worry! The chatbot does not make any hiring decisions, our human Talent Acquisition team manages final hiring stages and interviews. If you want your application to be assessed without any AI assistance, you can always request human intervention via [email protected], and an alternative will be provided. You can also share your point of view during the recruitment process and contest any decision made using automated processing. 
Your interactions with the chatbot are stored for 30 days and then deleted. Anonymized data may be stored indefinitely to improve the process.
As part of our recruitment process, we use game-based personality assessments to help us evaluate the suitability of candidates. We use the results to help us make fair and objective hiring decisions. You will also receive detailed assessment results for your personal development!

8. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

You may request if and in what manner we process personal data about you (right to access). If it appears that the personal data we process about you contains a mistake, such as the misspelling of your name, you may request that we correct such a mistake (the right to rectification). You may withhold or withdraw your consent at any time without detriment to the assessment of your application (right to withdraw consent). In such case, we will erase the recordings of your personal data to which you consented without undue delay (right to erasure). In some cases, you have the right to limit the way in which we use your data (right to restrict processing). Under certain circumstances, you also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by us. In such case, we will re-assess whether we deem such processing by us legitimate or not.

If you visit one of our websites, such as jobs.hunkemoller.com, we may also process personal data of you via cookies and similar technologies.
